The First Wise Women’s Circle, in Stanley!

It is with great excitement and anticipation that I invite you to attend our circle for the many evidence-backed benefits of why women have been gathering in circles for millennia.

I envisioned the circle as a place to reconnect to self, and to other women through the power of witnessing, being heard, being held and acknowledge the ancestral threads of those who have come before us, and continue to live within us, for the purpose of enhancing our wellbeing.

We come together to relax, meditate, share stories, heal, nourish, and empower ourselves in a sacred space that does not value one spiritual belief above another. Bring all of you.

Women are more lonely than ever and the harms to health are clear. Poor social connections are associated with increased risk of cardiovascular disease, hypertension, diabetes, infectious diseases, impaired cognitive function, depression, and anxiety (Lancet, 2023).

Our theme to explore this month is Transitions, the ones we’ve successfully navigated, the ones that culturally are unrecognised as having value, and perhaps the ones we hadn’t even considered that deserve to be marked, validated and heard. By offering a non-advice giving space, (unless invited), we can speak from our own experiences to share our wisdoms and grow from the experience.

WHAT WILL WE BE DOING, YOU MAY ASK?!

We will arrive and gather and move into our space, and be welcomed with a cup of heart-opening cacao, or tea, what ever is your preferred drink, we will sit in a circle that is around a table with chairs, because as appealing as being on the floor is, it’s not comfortable for everyone. If you bring an offering which could be botanical, favourite stone that speaks to you before you come, anything really to add to our centre place/altar.

I will facilitate the circle as no guru and without a personal barrow to push, except to allow things to unfold as they may. I have a play-list which I feel is suitable to add to the ambiance of the space and help us relax. I will open the space and invite everyone to participate in a short guided visualisation for grounding. Then we can gently move to discussion and sharing of the transitions in our lives, perhaps the ones that are most alive in us at this time. Afterwards, you are invited to make some expressive art in relation to what has transpired. Finally, we may share our makings if we wish, and close the circle and go back to our lives a little more enlivened and transformed.

(A short note to mention that the expressive and creative arts invitation is one of allowing what comes to the paper without judgement, there is no need for any expertise or artistic talents, it is a way to express the unexpressed with out words - unless it’s poetry of course!)

Look forward to seeing you there, currently the circle capacity is for ten wonderful women.

Next month, November 16 the theme is Intuition…
